Plum Superannuation Fund rated Platinum by SuperRatings
The Plum Superannuation Fund has been awarded a Platinum rating for 2009 by SuperRatings.
SuperRatings provides independent assessment and ratings of Australia’s major superannuation master trusts. The organisation researches and analyses over 250 superannuation funds. Only a limited number of funds are awarded the prestigious Platinum Rating.
According to SuperRatings, its ratings methodology has been designed to reflect each fund's 'value for money'. Funds which offer the best 'value for money' may provide the greater potential to maximise the retirement savings of its members in a well serviced, secure environment. They may also offer well-priced ancillary benefits such as life and disability insurances and quality impartial financial planning services. |
SuperRatings rated seven main areas of the Plum Superannuation Fund’s activities. These were weighted according to their relative importance. These areas include:
- investment (methodology, performance, process);
- fees and charges (cost, structure, transparency);
- administration (structure, service standards, internet facilities);
- advice (member education, employer servicing, financial planning);
- governance (trustee structure, risk management);
- insurance (rates, options, conditions); and
- qualitative overlay (overall benefits, flexibility and choice, usability).
When announcing the rating, SuperRatings commented, 'Plum provides integrated and innovative super solutions for medium to large Australian organisations. The investment menu is structured to cater for different levels of investment knowledge and experience and contains a set of pre-mixed options, sector specific and diversified investment options. Plum offers high quality educational support and good administration services.'
Plum's personal master trust, the Plum Personal Plan also achieved a SuperRatings Gold rating.
